AI Impact Awareness — Discussions

Community notes and follow-up reading on child development and AI

About this space

This is an informal companion discussion space to the main AI Impact Awareness page. It exists because a single article can't keep up with new research, so we post short follow-ups, reader questions, and summaries of studies as they come out.

We are not a research institution and don't claim any special authority. Most posts here are written by volunteers who read a lot of parenting forums, education journals, and the occasional preprint, and try to translate the interesting bits into something a busy parent or teacher can actually use.

What we cover

Mostly: attention and learning, social development, data privacy for young users, and practical guidance for setting boundaries at home or in a classroom. We try to stay away from moral panic in either direction — AI in a child's life is neither uniquely dangerous nor a free pass, and the honest answer is usually "it depends."
